Not Walking the Walk
I feel like lately I have been talking about these great big plans I have for keeping myself healthy and fit, but it just hasn't been happening. I guess I'll have to work on that. Here's some more plans, easy ones, hopefully to keep myself motivated.
Eating while Working
One big problem I am having (again), is eating enough. For some odd reason, I can't seem to get my act together. So, I am going to plan out some basic meals and get the ingredients and keep them on hand here at work.- I stashed a thing of tuna under my desk, so I have some protein for some days.
- I also bought baby spinach, dried cranberries, cucumbers, Greek yogurt and avocados today while out shopping for the SA. Mrs. Major has a small fridge in her office now that she lets me use since its always empty any how.
- I still want almonds, some fruit, cheese, maybe some lunch meat and I should probably bring in some oats for when I skip breakfast, which seems to be frequent as well.
Exercise
I can't remember the last time I actually went to the gym. So not good. My friend Emilie hasn't seen me in about a month because my carpool schedule gets me home by 5:30 instead of waiting around til 9:30 for Rick. I think I prefer going home at 5:30 ;) However, I'm getting a pooch again, so its back to the gym for me. I am probably going to start hitching a ride with Joe in the mornings, since he works about 3 blocks from my work and gym. He has to start work at 7:00am, so that means I'll be getting up even earlier. I currently get up between 6:30 and 6:50am. I'll probably have to start getting up at 5:00pm. Blech.
Part of my problem is I feel like I have no idea what I am doing at the gym without Emilie. However, I did just read a new magazine about women working out and they have a whole big section that outlines how to lift weights specifically for different parts of your body, so I'll just use that. :)
I am also thinking about getting the P90X workout system, which is about $120, but if you do it an hour a day you're supposed to be ripped in 90 days. I talked to my sister and she says she will do it with me. I definitely have the time now that I've decided not to get a second job. My Aunt Liz apparently does it and she looks great, so I'll have to ask her about it.
I definitely need to implement daily exercise. Trying to get to the gym 3 times a week isn't really working. Working out a little every day, as a constant, daily habit, is probably going to work out better.
