I am a little scared for the holiday season because the Salvation Army has so much going on. Apparently last year one of their fundraisers filled half of our moving van with toys for our toy drive. Isn't that overwhelming? Wow. I'm getting nervous.
Last night at the pub, I had a few interesting things happen.
- A man kept trying to chat me up, get me to hang out with him, gave me his phone number and when he was ready to leave, was all like "last chance c'mon hang out with me". While I was totally flattered, I also was not interested and it's always awkward to try and get out of a situation like that without pissing the other person off.
- I was minding my own business wiping down the bar and a customer came up to me and said "I just have to say that you are absolutely stunning" and I turned very red and smiled.
- I made almost 4X what I made last Monday simply by apply a smile and some suggestions of food to try. That was totally awesome. I think I'll make my goal of $250/month income from this job with no problem.
- I feel like the pub is a place where I can just let go and enjoy myself. I flirt, I laugh, I make jokes and I show a lot more cleavage than I normally do. I hear other waitresses complaining about people staring at them, and to be honest, I enjoy it. I work hard to stay slim and still enjoy food and I love knowing that I turn a few heads. ;)
- I'm excited for Thursday night. I wonder how many tips I'll make?
