A Goal to be Achieved by 30

The next 8 years of hard work will be worth it if this is my return:

The Reality

A guy in Olympia, Washington made this boat. I stumbled onto his site yesterday and he makes custom designs from scratch. I showed the site to Rick and this one is THE ONE he has been dreaming about (see a pic in his inspiration gallery he's been obsessing over below). The inside is beautiful as well, but we will probably tweak ours a little. Namely, I think the kitchen can hold at least a 3/4 sized fridge and maybe be a little bigger, and I am hoping that I will be able to swing a walk in closet for myself (cha-ching!).
The Dream

We are both on the path to get this boat. I am paying off my student loans; he is saving up as much as he can. When I have my student loans paid off, then I can move back to Portland, get a 40+ hour a week job at a minimum of $14.50 an hour with the experience I've earned (I hope, very much) and then stay with Margie, Rick's mom, until we have enough money saved up. Between the two of us, over the next few years, I think its very doable. I'm guessing this boat will cost between $300,000 and $400,000. We can definitely get this by the time I'm 30 if we're both out of debt and completely focused.

Finding this boat, with someone who can make it, makes our dream so much more tangible. I know it will happen. I can just feel it in my bones. It makes me so happy to think about and to dream about the home I will have soon. Yay!
